About Soju

Soju is a cozy, family-owned Korean restaurant specializing in creating traditional dishes like bulgogi, bibimbap, and dumplings with an American twist. Soju is located in Pittsburgh's East End neighborhood, Garfield, tucked between Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, East Liberty, and Shadyside. We seek to provide a welcoming environment for guests to enjoy food, drinks, family, and friends. We also serve a wide range of craft beers, specialty cocktails, NA refreshments, and (of course) soju.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 5–9 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Pittsburgh peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Easily my favorite restaurant in all of Pittsburgh!! Coming from a foodie herself, this means everything!! I’ve been going regularly a few times a month for the past 3-4 years…. it’s THAT good. The staff is always so kind & welcoming it’s really the best crew out there! They really feel like family and the overall vibe of Soju is unmatched. You can tell just how much passion everyone has at the restaurant for good food and good people!! Fave dishes are the killer tofu, kimchi nachos, kimchi fried rice and pineapple salmon!!! I would give this six stars if I could. Love you Soju!!!

Amazing food, excellent service and huge servings. Every single thing we tried was just excellent. The crispy tofu was truly killer and the kalbi beef was everyone’s favorite. We enjoyed the kimchi nachos, the tteoboki (I’m sure I spelled that incorrectly), the bibimbap - really just everything we tried was just perfect. This might be our new go to for Korean food!

Loved Soju! We ordered the kimchi nachos, which came with crispy wonton chips instead of regular tortilla chips and it was really filling. The fried chicken was crunchy and delicious. The only dish I was a bit disappointed with was the three-cheese tteokbokki; it just wasn’t cheesy. I loved the aesthetic of the place. It was cozy, trendy, and great for hanging out with friends. Overall, I definitely want to back to try other dishes!
